End of Quarter Checklist

Bridge Academy Students –

Following is a list of items that MUST be turned in by October 31st:

  1. Summer Reading Project or Parent/Teacher meeting in lieu of summer reading
  2. Moby Dick Questions Packet (ch.1-6)
  3. Moby Dick vs. Jaws comparison essay
  4. Portfolio Prompts 1-5 (print out and insert into binder)

All of the above assignments can be found on the course website.

ENG 1/2 – Poetry Analysis (Take Home Prompt)

Please complete the following prompt for next class:

Using the worksheet(s) you completed for the poem, “Brandy”, consider the two possible meanings/topics of the poem discussed in class, and select which poem is the “best” choice based on the evidence you have found in support of each topic choice.  

Note: Your response should not only support your position, but also identify and attempt to explain why alternate topics may not be as strong of a possibility as the one you have chosen.

English 3/4 – New Project: “I Am Bridge” (Due March 20th)

The purpose of this project is to sharpen your presentation abilities, as well as your ability to compose a well thought out, focused snapshot of who you are.  Following is a breakout of the steps involved in this project:

  1. Collage – Using pictures, photos, quotes, etc. put together an (8.5 x 11) collage that represents who your are, and the things that make you an interesting individual.
  2. Snapshot – Draft a one-page explanation of your collage and the great things that make you unique.
  3. Theme Song – Select a theme song that represents you, and prepare to share a sample of it with the class.
  4. Presentation – Each student will present their collage and snapshot essay to the class.

Holocaust Class – Presentation Slots & Related Info

Hi Everyone –

Below is the order of presentations based on your time slot selection during class.  If you were absent for the selection process, a number was assigned to you based on available slots remaining.  As discussed throughout this assignment, failure to present on your assigned day will result in a failing grade for the project.  Remember, you will be graded as both the teacher and the student for the duration of project presentations, so please make sure to avoid absences, as they will negatively impact your final grade.

PowerPoint projects must be emailed by the end of class on day prior to your lesson.

Project presentations must be a minimum of 30 minutes long, and incorporate in-class activities and assessments to confirm that your classmates have learned something from you.  Videos, pictures, and class wide discussions are encouraged.
